MAY 28 – The Right Way Isn’t Always the Easy Way
3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 16:25-26; Ephesians 3

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. A worker’s appetite works for him; his mouth urges him on.” — Proverbs 16:25-26
“That according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being.” — Ephesians 3:16

Have you ever followed your gut or trusted your feelings, only to realize later it wasn’t the best move? Proverbs 16:25 warns that sometimes the way that feels right can actually lead us the wrong direction. That’s a big deal—especially when you’re trying to make choices about friends, dating, school, or even what to post online.
It’s easy to get pulled into what’s popular or what feels good in the moment, but God invites us to walk His way—even when it’s harder. Thankfully, we’re not expected to figure it all out on our own.
In Ephesians 3, Paul reminds us that God strengthens us from the inside out through His Spirit. That means when life gets confusing or exhausting, we can ask God for real power to keep going and keep growing. He wants us to be rooted in His love, guided by His truth, and strong enough to follow the path that leads to life.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Looks Can Be Deceiving: Have you ever made a decision that seemed right but ended badly? How can you seek God’s direction instead of just trusting your own instincts?
2. Real Strength: Where do you feel weak right now—in your faith, your choices, or your relationships? What would it look like to ask God for strength in your “inner being” like Paul prayed?
3. Hunger That Motivates: Proverbs 16:26 talks about how hunger drives a worker. What “hunger” or goal is pushing you forward in life—and is it leading you toward God or away from Him?

BOTTOM LINE
Not everything that seems right is truly right. We need God’s wisdom and strength to follow His path, even when it’s hard. His way leads to life, peace, and purpose.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, help me not to lean on my own understanding or follow what just feels right. Give me Your wisdom to see clearly and Your strength to follow You when it’s hard. Fill my heart with the hunger to know You more and to live out Your truth each day. Strengthen me in my inner being so I can live the life You’ve called me to. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
