JUNE 10 – Faithful Friendships and Fresh Manna
3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 17:17–18; Psalm 67; Exodus 16

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. One who lacks sense gives a pledge and puts up security in the presence of his neighbor.” — Proverbs 17:17–18
“May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations.” — Psalm 67:1–2
“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Behold, I am about to rain bread from heaven for you…’” — Exodus 16:4

Have you ever been hangry—so hungry that your mood completely flips? That was the Israelites in Exodus 16. Just days after being rescued by God through the Red Sea, they started complaining about being hungry. Instead of snapping at them, God provided bread from heaven (called manna), teaching them to trust Him for daily needs.
In Proverbs 17, we see another kind of faithfulness—through friendship. A true friend isn’t just there for the fun stuff. They stick with you in tough times. Real friends reflect God’s faithful love, showing up when you’re struggling, not just when life’s easy.
And Psalm 67 reminds us why all this matters: when God provides for us and we show His love to others, the world sees what God is like. God blesses us so His goodness can be known everywhere—at your school, on your team, in your friend group.
Whether it’s God providing food in the desert, a friend standing by you, or you being that kind of friend for someone else—God is showing us what faithfulness looks like. It’s daily. It’s generous. And it points people to Him.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Daily Dependence: What’s one area of your life where you need to trust God to provide—emotionally, physically, or spiritually?
2. Faithful Friendships: Are you the kind of friend who shows up when others are struggling? Who’s someone that might need your encouragement today?
3. Living as a Blessing: How can your life reflect God’s blessing to others this week? Think about how your words, attitude, or actions can make His love visible.

BOTTOM LINE
God is faithful to meet our daily needs and calls us to reflect that same love and faithfulness in our friendships and everyday lives.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for being faithful even when I forget to trust You. Help me to depend on You every day, like the Israelites learned to do in the wilderness. Make me a faithful friend to others and use my life to show the world Your love and goodness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
