I shall be killed in the streets!’ The mouth of strange women is a deep pit; he who is under the Lord’s wrath falls into it.” — Proverbs 22:13–14 (ESV)“Exalt the Lord our God; worship at his footstool! Holy is he!” — Psalm 99:5 (ESV)“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.” — 1 John 4:7 (ESV)________________________________________Sometimes fear or laziness can stop us from doing what’s right. Maybe it’s speaking up for someone being bullied, trying out for a team, or even just being honest when it’s uncomfortable. Proverbs 22 warns about making excuses or avoiding responsibility because of fear—it can trap us in bad habits or danger. But Psalm 99 reminds us to put God first, recognizing His holiness and power, which gives us courage. And 1 John 4 encourages us to act in love, because love is what reflects God’s heart to the world.Choosing courage over comfort isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it. Fear can whisper lies, but when we focus on God’s holiness and love, we gain strength to step forward. Love isn’t just a feeling—it’s action. Every time you choose to do the right thing, even when scared, you are showing God’s love in a tangible way.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Excuses vs. Action: Are there areas in your life where fear or laziness keeps you from doing what’s right (Proverbs 22:13–14)? How can you face them with courage?2. Focus on God: How does remembering God’s holiness and power (Psalm 99:5) help you confront challenges without fear?3. Love in Action: How can you actively show God’s love (1 John 4:7) to friends, classmates, or even strangers this week?________________________________________BOTTOM LINEChoosing courage and love over fear and comfort lets God’s power and presence shine through your life.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, help me to choose courage over fear and to act in love even when it’s uncomfortable. Remind me of Your holiness and power so I can face challenges with confidence, and guide me to reflect Your heart in every interaction. Strengthen me to do what is right and to show love in action every day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
