Proverbs 20 reminds us that not everything flashy or expensive is truly valuable; sometimes people boast about what they’ve gained at the wrong cost. Luke 21 warns us to be careful about false promises or people trying to mislead us, especially in times of change or uncertainty.Life is full of things that look good on the outside but aren’t good for us inside. What really matters—the “gold and rubies” worth pursuing—are qualities like wisdom, knowledge, honesty, and faith. Choosing these takes patience and discernment, but they last far longer than trends or superficial gains.
