Sometimes it feels like understanding life is a secret code you just haven’t cracked yet. Proverbs 20:5 tells us that wisdom can be hidden deep inside a person—it’s like water buried in the ground—and it takes thought and effort to bring it out. In Luke 16, Jesus tells the story of a manager who, though dishonest, was shrewd in handling his situation. The story isn’t about copying bad behavior, but it shows the importance of thinking ahead, being resourceful, and understanding the consequences of our choices.God wants us to develop insight and discernment—not just for surviving day-to-day, but for making decisions that honor Him. Sometimes that means thinking carefully, asking God for wisdom, and being patient instead of rushing into decisions. Like the manager, we need to use what we have wisely, but with honesty, integrity, and a focus on God’s purposes.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Seek Understanding: How can you “draw out” wisdom from your heart and from God in situations where you feel confused or overwhelmed (Proverbs 20:5)?2. Think Ahead: In the story of the manager (Luke 16:1, 8), what can you learn about planning and making thoughtful choices before challenges hit?3. Use Your Resources Wisely: What skills, talents, or opportunities do you have that God is calling you to steward responsibly for His glory?________________________________________BOTTOM LINEWisdom and discernment are hidden treasures—seek them, think ahead, and use what God has given you wisely.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for the gift of wisdom and understanding. Help me to seek Your guidance in every situation and to use the abilities and resources You’ve given me wisely. Teach me to think ahead, make good choices, and honor You in all that I do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
