JULY 10 – Real Love, Real Life3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 19:22–23; Psalm 79; Luke 10//3-Year Bible Devotional Book (Year Two) Available on Amazon//________________________________________“What is desired in a man is steadfast love, and a poor man is better than a liar. The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm.” — Proverbs 19:22–23 (ESV)“Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name; deliver us, and atone for our sins, for your name’s sake!” — Psalm 79:9 (ESV)“But the Lord answered her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.’” — Luke 10:41–42 (ESV)________________________________________Have you ever felt like life is one big competition—grades, sports, popularity—and it’s exhausting trying to keep up? In Proverbs 19, we see that what really matters isn’t how much stuff you have but living with love, honesty, and a healthy fear of God. That’s what leads to real life and peace. In Psalm 79, the people cry out to God for help, reminding us that only He can bring the forgiveness and hope we need. And in Luke 10, Jesus gently tells Martha that in the middle of all her busyness, Mary chose the one thing that truly mattered—spending time with Him.Sometimes we chase the wrong things, thinking they’ll bring us happiness, but Jesus says the “good portion” is found in Him. Real love. Real life. Real peace. That’s what He offers when we slow down, trust Him, and keep Him first.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Choose What Matters: Are there areas in your life where you’ve been chasing success or approval instead of spending time with Jesus (Luke 10:41–42)?2. Live with Integrity: Why do you think Proverbs says a poor person with love and honesty is better than someone who lies to get ahead (Proverbs 19:22–23)?3. Ask for Help: Like the people in Psalm 79, what do you need to bring to God today, trusting Him to forgive, restore, or help you?________________________________________BOTTOM LINETrue life and peace come from loving God, living with integrity, and choosing time with Him over life’s distractions.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that real life and peace come from You alone. Help me to choose the things that matter most—loving You, living with integrity, and spending time in Your presence. Teach me to trust You with my worries and to rest in Your love. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
