“Whoever mocks the poor insults his Maker; he who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished.” — Proverbs 17:5 (ESV)

“She was deeply distressed and prayed to the Lord and wept bitterly. And she vowed a vow and said, ‘O Lord of hosts, if you will indeed look on the affliction of your servant and remember me… I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life.’” — 1 Samuel 1:10–11 (ESV)

“And Hannah prayed and said, ‘My heart exults in the Lord; my strength is exalted in the Lord.’” — 1 Samuel 2:1 (ESV)

Have you ever had a prayer that felt like it was taking forever to be answered? Hannah did. She longed for a child for years, and in her deep pain, she poured her heart out to God in 1 Samuel 1. What’s amazing is that after God answered, she didn’t forget Him—she gave her son Samuel back to the Lord’s service. In Proverbs 17:5, we’re reminded that God cares deeply about how we treat others, especially those who are hurting. Hannah’s story shows us that God sees our tears, hears our prayers, and turns our pain into praise, just like she celebrated in 1 Samuel 2:1.

Waiting on God isn’t easy. But Hannah teaches us that our pain can become a platform for God’s glory when we trust Him and stay faithful, even when life doesn’t make sense.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. God Sees Your Pain: What does Hannah’s prayer in 1 Samuel 1 teach you about bringing your deepest struggles honestly to God?

2. Compassion Matters: How does Proverbs 17:5 challenge you to treat people who are hurting or struggling around you?

3. Praise After the Answer: When God answers your prayers—or even while you’re still waiting—how can you praise Him like Hannah did in 1 Samuel 2:1?

BOTTOM LINE

God sees your tears, hears your prayers, and can turn your pain into a story of praise when you trust Him fully.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for hearing me when I cry out to You. Help me to trust You while I wait and to stay faithful no matter how long it takes. Teach me to show compassion to others who are hurting and to give You praise for every answered prayer. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Welcome to Bible Chat, where we
have devotional conversations

2
00:00:06,120 –> 00:00:10,800
rooted in Scripture and relevant
for today, June 3rd.

3
00:00:11,280 –> 00:00:15,880
God sees and God answers.
Have you ever prayed for

4
00:00:15,880 –> 00:00:19,320
something so deeply, so
desperately, that it felt like

5
00:00:19,320 –> 00:00:22,800
God just wasn’t listening?
Like your prayer was going up,

6
00:00:23,040 –> 00:00:24,720
but nothing was coming back
down?

7
00:00:25,200 –> 00:00:27,600
That kind of waiting can mess
with your faith.

8
00:00:28,120 –> 00:00:31,840
It can make you wonder if God
cares, if He sees if he’s even

9
00:00:31,840 –> 00:00:34,760
there at all.
Hannah knew that feeling.

10
00:00:35,720 –> 00:00:40,080
First Samuel chapter 1, verses
10 and 11 say she was deeply

11
00:00:40,080 –> 00:00:42,960
distressed and prayed to the
Lord and wept bitterly.

12
00:00:43,360 –> 00:00:47,120
And she vowed A vow and said, O
Lord of hosts, if you will

13
00:00:47,120 –> 00:00:50,800
indeed look on the affliction of
your servant and Remember Me, I

14
00:00:50,800 –> 00:00:53,360
will give him to the Lord.
All the days of his life.

15
00:00:53,960 –> 00:00:56,480
Hannah had been longing for a
child for years.

16
00:00:56,960 –> 00:00:59,840
She had been mocked and
dismissed, and in her deepest

17
00:00:59,840 –> 00:01:03,400
pain, she didn’t walk away from
God, She walked toward Him.

18
00:01:03,920 –> 00:01:07,240
She brought her mess, her tears,
her honest heartbreak straight

19
00:01:07,240 –> 00:01:10,520
to God’s feet.
That’s something powerful right

20
00:01:10,520 –> 00:01:13,000
there.
We often think we have to clean

21
00:01:13,000 –> 00:01:16,680
ourselves up before we come to
God, like we can only bring our

22
00:01:16,680 –> 00:01:18,640
prayers once we’ve got it
together.

23
00:01:19,040 –> 00:01:20,880
But Hannah shows us a different
way.

24
00:01:21,360 –> 00:01:25,280
She came broken.
She came weeping, she came with

25
00:01:25,280 –> 00:01:28,800
nothing but her desperation and
her trust and God heard her.

26
00:01:29,720 –> 00:01:33,520
And what’s even more beautiful
is what happened after, after

27
00:01:33,520 –> 00:01:36,640
God answered her prayer and gave
her a son, Samuel.

28
00:01:37,080 –> 00:01:39,480
Hannah didn’t forget where that
blessing came from.

29
00:01:39,920 –> 00:01:44,080
First Samuel chapter 2 verse one
says and Hannah prayed and said,

30
00:01:44,240 –> 00:01:48,200
my heart exalts in the Lord, My
strength is exalted in the Lord.

31
00:01:48,800 –> 00:01:50,680
She didn’t keep the blessing
quietly.

32
00:01:50,720 –> 00:01:54,120
She turned it into praise.
She let her answered prayer

33
00:01:54,120 –> 00:01:57,560
become a testimony.
Now in the middle of this

34
00:01:57,680 –> 00:02:01,360
Proverbs chapter 17, verse 5
drops a word we shouldn’t skip.

35
00:02:01,920 –> 00:02:04,280
Whoever mocks the poor insults
his Maker.

36
00:02:04,560 –> 00:02:07,480
He who is glad at calamity will
not go unpunished.

37
00:02:08,120 –> 00:02:10,560
God sees how we treat people who
are hurting.

38
00:02:11,039 –> 00:02:14,520
Hannah was mocked and belittled
in her pain, and God took note.

39
00:02:15,000 –> 00:02:18,120
He cares about how we respond to
those around us who are

40
00:02:18,120 –> 00:02:20,920
suffering.
Compassion isn’t optional for

41
00:02:20,920 –> 00:02:24,040
the person of faith.
It’s a reflection of God’s own

42
00:02:24,040 –> 00:02:26,880
heart.
So what does this mean for us

43
00:02:26,880 –> 00:02:29,320
today?
It means that God sees your

44
00:02:29,320 –> 00:02:31,640
tears.
He hears those prayers you’ve

45
00:02:31,640 –> 00:02:35,440
been praying in the quiet late
at night when nobody else knows

46
00:02:35,440 –> 00:02:38,720
what you’re going through.
He hasn’t forgotten you, even

47
00:02:38,720 –> 00:02:42,000
when the waiting feels long.
And like Hannah, your pain

48
00:02:42,000 –> 00:02:44,880
doesn’t have to make you bitter.
It can make you better.

49
00:02:45,320 –> 00:02:48,760
It can deepen your faith, soften
your heart toward others who are

50
00:02:48,760 –> 00:02:52,880
hurting, and set up a story of
praise that glorifies God in

51
00:02:52,880 –> 00:02:56,560
ways you never expected.
Don’t quit in the waiting.

52
00:02:57,000 –> 00:02:59,320
God is working even when you
can’t see it.

53
00:03:00,240 –> 00:03:04,000
Let’s pray.
Heavenly Father, thank you for

54
00:03:04,000 –> 00:03:05,600
hearing us when we cry out to
You.

55
00:03:06,200 –> 00:03:09,440
Help us to trust You in the
waiting, even when the silence

56
00:03:09,440 –> 00:03:11,600
feels long and the pain feels
heavy.

57
00:03:12,000 –> 00:03:15,320
Teach us to bring our real
selves to You, just like Hannah

58
00:03:15,320 –> 00:03:18,640
did, and to show compassion to
others around us who are

59
00:03:18,640 –> 00:03:21,120
hurting.
We believe that you can turn our

60
00:03:21,120 –> 00:03:24,080
pain into praise.
We believe you see us.

61
00:03:24,600 –> 00:03:27,480
Help us to keep trusting until
the breakthrough comes.

62
00:03:27,960 –> 00:03:33,520
In Jesus name, Amen.
When the battle feels personal,

63
00:03:33,680 –> 00:03:37,040
relentless, and too heavy to
name, your prayers do not have

64
00:03:37,040 –> 00:03:40,360
to fall silent.
Under Siege is a prayer script

65
00:03:40,360 –> 00:03:43,680
series for believers walking
through fear, betrayal,

66
00:03:43,920 –> 00:03:46,760
spiritual pressure, and unseen
conflict.

67
00:03:47,080 –> 00:03:50,960
With a warm, faith centered
focus, these books give voice to

68
00:03:50,960 –> 00:03:54,960
the cry for help, the fight for
a steady mind, the weariness

69
00:03:54,960 –> 00:03:59,520
that longs to run, the chaos of
hostile environments, the pain

70
00:03:59,520 –> 00:04:02,640
of broken trust, and the
confidence to leave judgment in

71
00:04:02,640 –> 00:04:05,280
God’s hands.
This series helps you pray with

72
00:04:05,280 –> 00:04:07,920
discernment, endurance, and
covenant trust.

73
00:04:07,920 –> 00:04:11,560
When the pressure is real and
the path feels narrow, stand

74
00:04:11,560 –> 00:04:13,360
firm.
Pray clearly.

75
00:04:13,760 –> 00:04:16,240

people in the middle of the

00:04:16,240 –> 00:04:19,240
battle.

Now I invite you to spend time

78
00:04:26,680 –> 00:04:29,240
with God in today’s three-year
Bible reading plan.

79
00:04:31,080 –> 00:04:34,960
Proverbs chapter 17, Verse five
World English Bible.

80
00:04:35,280 –> 00:04:37,680
Whoever mocks the poor
reproaches his maker.

81
00:04:38,080 –> 00:04:40,800
He who is glad at calamity shall
not be unpunished.

82
00:04:41,280 –> 00:04:44,960
First Samuel chapters one to two
World English Bible.

83
00:04:45,960 –> 00:04:49,240
Now there was a certain man of
Ramatim Zophim of the Hill

84
00:04:49,240 –> 00:04:52,720
Country of Ephraim, and his name
was Elkanah, the son of

85
00:04:52,720 –> 00:04:56,920
Jeromeham, the son of Alihu, the
son of Tohu the son of Zaf and

86
00:04:56,920 –> 00:04:59,760
Ephraimite.
He had two wives.

87
00:05:00,040 –> 00:05:02,760
The name of 1 was Hannah, and
the name of the other Pennana.

88
00:05:03,280 –> 00:05:06,080
Pennana had children, but Hannah
had no children.

89
00:05:07,120 –> 00:05:10,600
This man went up out of his city
from year to year to worship and

90
00:05:10,600 –> 00:05:13,160
to sacrifice to Yahweh of armies
in Shiloh.

91
00:05:13,800 –> 00:05:18,000
The two sons of Eli, Hofni, and
Feynhas, priests to Yahweh, were

92
00:05:18,000 –> 00:05:21,000
there.
When the day came that Elkanah

93
00:05:21,000 –> 00:05:24,920
sacrificed, he gave to Penina
his wife, and to all her sons

94
00:05:24,920 –> 00:05:28,200
and her daughter’s portions, but
to Hannah he gave a double

95
00:05:28,200 –> 00:05:32,440
portion, for he loved Hannah,
but Yahweh had shut up her womb.

96
00:05:33,600 –> 00:05:37,120
Her rival provoked her severely
to irritate her, because Yahweh

97
00:05:37,120 –> 00:05:40,320
had shut up her womb.
So year by year, when she went

98
00:05:40,320 –> 00:05:42,800
up to Yahweh’s house, her rival
provoked her.

99
00:05:43,200 –> 00:05:44,960
Therefore she wept and didn’t
eat.

100
00:05:46,000 –> 00:05:48,800
Elkanah, her husband, said to
her, Hannah, why do you weep?

101
00:05:49,120 –> 00:05:51,280
Why don’t you eat?
Why is your heart grieved?

102
00:05:52,360 –> 00:05:54,280
Am I not better to you than ten
sons?

103
00:05:54,760 –> 00:05:57,960
So Hannah rose up after they had
finished eating and drinking in

104
00:05:57,960 –> 00:06:00,760
Shiloh.
Now Eli the priest was sitting

105
00:06:00,760 –> 00:06:03,400
on his seat by the doorpost of
Yahweh’s temple.

106
00:06:04,400 –> 00:06:07,000
She was in bitterness of soul
and prayed to Yahweh.

107
00:06:07,000 –> 00:06:12,080
Weeping bitterly, she vowed A
vow and said, Yahweh of armies,

108
00:06:12,080 –> 00:06:14,640
if you will indeed look at the
affliction of your servant, and

109
00:06:14,640 –> 00:06:18,080
Remember Me, and not forget your
servant, but will give to your

110
00:06:18,080 –> 00:06:22,120
servant a boy, then I will give
him to Yahweh all the days of

111
00:06:22,120 –> 00:06:24,720
his life, and no razor shall
come on his head.

112
00:06:25,360 –> 00:06:28,760
As she continued praying before
Yahweh, Eli saw her mouth.

113
00:06:29,800 –> 00:06:33,120
Now Hannah spoke in her heart
only her lips moved, but her

114
00:06:33,120 –> 00:06:36,080
voice was not heard.
Therefore Eli thought she was

115
00:06:36,080 –> 00:06:38,880
drunk.
Eli said to her, How long will

116
00:06:38,880 –> 00:06:41,600
you be drunk?
Get rid of your wine.

117
00:06:41,880 –> 00:06:44,800
Hannah answered.
No my Lord, I am a woman of a

118
00:06:44,800 –> 00:06:47,720
sorrowful spirit.
I have not been drinking wine or

119
00:06:47,720 –> 00:06:50,800
strong drink, but I poured out
my soul before Yahweh.

120
00:06:51,840 –> 00:06:54,800
Don’t consider your servant a
wicked woman, for I have been

121
00:06:54,800 –> 00:06:58,080
speaking out of the abundance of
my complaint and my provocation.

122
00:06:58,720 –> 00:07:03,760
Then Eli answered, Go in peace,
and may the God of Israel grant

123
00:07:03,760 –> 00:07:05,440
your petition that you have
asked of him.

124
00:07:05,880 –> 00:07:08,840
She said, Let your servant find
favor in your sight.

125
00:07:09,280 –> 00:07:13,400
So the woman went her way and
ate, and her facial expression

126
00:07:13,400 –> 00:07:16,800
wasn’t sad anymore.
They rose up in the morning

127
00:07:16,800 –> 00:07:20,000
early and worshipped Yahweh,
then returned and came to their

128
00:07:20,000 –> 00:07:24,200
house to Rama, then Elkin and
knew Hannah his wife, and Yahweh

129
00:07:24,200 –> 00:07:27,480
remembered her.
When the time had come, Hannah

130
00:07:27,480 –> 00:07:31,120
conceived and bore a son, and
she named him Samuel, saying,

131
00:07:31,320 –> 00:07:32,960
Because I have asked him of
Yahweh.

132
00:07:33,520 –> 00:07:37,760
The man Elkanah and all his
house went up to offer to Yahweh

133
00:07:37,760 –> 00:07:39,880
the yearly sacrifice and his
vow.

134
00:07:41,000 –> 00:07:44,160
But Hannah didn’t go up, for she
said to her husband, not until

135
00:07:44,160 –> 00:07:47,560
the child is weaned, then I will
bring him, that he may appear

136
00:07:47,560 –> 00:07:49,680
before Yahweh and stay there
forever.

137
00:07:50,320 –> 00:07:55,640
Elkanah her husband said to her,
Do what seems good to you, wait

138
00:07:55,640 –> 00:07:58,960
until you have weaned him only.
May Yahweh establish his word.

139
00:07:59,560 –> 00:08:02,680
So the woman waited and nursed
her son until she weaned him.

140
00:08:03,680 –> 00:08:06,360
When she had weaned him, she
took him up with her with three

141
00:08:06,360 –> 00:08:10,040
bowls and 1E for of meal and a
container of wine and brought

142
00:08:10,040 –> 00:08:13,520
him to Yahweh’s house in Shiloh.
The child was young.

143
00:08:14,600 –> 00:08:16,960
They killed the bull and brought
the child to Eli.

144
00:08:17,480 –> 00:08:21,600
She said, Oh my Lord, as your
soul lives, my Lord, I am the

145
00:08:21,600 –> 00:08:23,960
woman who stood by you here
praying to Yahweh.

146
00:08:25,040 –> 00:08:28,280
I prayed for this child and
Yahweh has given me my petition

147
00:08:28,280 –> 00:08:31,280
which I asked of him.
Therefore I have also given him

148
00:08:31,280 –> 00:08:33,799
to Yahweh.
As long as he lives, he is given

149
00:08:33,799 –> 00:08:36,360
to Yahweh.
He worshipped Yahweh there.

150
00:08:37,360 –> 00:08:41,559
Hannah prayed and said, My heart
exalts in Yahweh, My horn is

151
00:08:41,559 –> 00:08:44,760
exalted in Yahweh.
My mouth is enlarged over my

152
00:08:44,760 –> 00:08:47,320
enemies, because I rejoice in
your salvation.

153
00:08:48,360 –> 00:08:51,200
There is no one as holy as
Yahweh, for there is no one

154
00:08:51,200 –> 00:08:54,240
besides you, nor is there any
rock like our God.

155
00:08:54,800 –> 00:08:57,120
Don’t keep talking so
exceedingly proudly.

156
00:08:58,160 –> 00:09:01,120
Don’t let arrogance come out of
your mouth, for Yahweh is a God

157
00:09:01,120 –> 00:09:03,680
of knowledge.
By Him actions are weighed.

158
00:09:04,160 –> 00:09:05,960
The bows of the mighty men are
broken.

159
00:09:06,200 –> 00:09:08,320
Those who stumbled are armed
with strength.

160
00:09:09,400 –> 00:09:11,960
Those who were full of hired
themselves out for bread.

161
00:09:12,360 –> 00:09:14,280
Those who are hungry are
satisfied.

162
00:09:14,600 –> 00:09:18,080
Yes, the Baron has borne 7.
She who has many children

163
00:09:18,080 –> 00:09:21,080
languishes.
Yahweh kills and makes alive.

164
00:09:22,120 –> 00:09:24,000
He brings down to she all and
brings up.

165
00:09:24,400 –> 00:09:26,240
Yahweh makes poor and makes
rich.

166
00:09:26,560 –> 00:09:28,560
He brings low.
He also lifts up.

167
00:09:28,920 –> 00:09:30,800
He raises up the poor out of the
dust.

168
00:09:31,800 –> 00:09:34,640
He lifts up the needy from the
dunghill to make them sit with

169
00:09:34,640 –> 00:09:37,320
Princess and inherit the throne
of glory.

170
00:09:37,800 –> 00:09:39,840
For the pillars of the earth are
Yahweh’s.

171
00:09:40,200 –> 00:09:43,760
He has set the world on them.
He will keep the feet of His

172
00:09:43,760 –> 00:09:47,400
holy ones, but the wicked will
be put to silence in darkness.

173
00:09:47,720 –> 00:09:49,800
For no man will prevail by
strength.

174
00:09:50,360 –> 00:09:53,200
Those who strive with Yahweh
shall be broken to pieces.

175
00:09:54,200 –> 00:09:56,080
He will Thunder against them in
the sky.

176
00:09:56,480 –> 00:09:58,400
Yahweh will judge the ends of
the earth.

177
00:09:58,640 –> 00:10:01,640
He will give strength to his
king and exalt the horn of his

178
00:10:01,640 –> 00:10:04,200
anointed.
Elkanah went to Rama, to his

179
00:10:04,200 –> 00:10:07,320
house.
The child served Yahweh before

180
00:10:07,320 –> 00:10:10,360
Eli the priest.
Now the sons of Eli were wicked

181
00:10:10,360 –> 00:10:12,160
men.
They didn’t know Yahweh.

182
00:10:13,160 –> 00:10:16,080
The custom of the priests with
the people was that when anyone

183
00:10:16,080 –> 00:10:19,280
offered a sacrifice, the
priest’s servant came while the

184
00:10:19,280 –> 00:10:23,760
meat was boiling with a fork of
three teeth in his hand, and he

185
00:10:23,760 –> 00:10:27,080
stabbed it into the pan or
kettle or cauldron or pot.

186
00:10:28,120 –> 00:10:30,960
The priest took all that the
fork brought up for himself.

187
00:10:31,480 –> 00:10:33,760
They did this to all the
Israelites who came there to

188
00:10:33,760 –> 00:10:37,040
Shiloh.
Yes, before they burn the fat,

189
00:10:37,200 –> 00:10:40,600
the priest’s servant came and
said to the man who sacrificed,

190
00:10:41,080 –> 00:10:44,120
Give meat to roast for the
priest, for he will not accept

191
00:10:44,120 –> 00:10:48,920
boiled meat from you, but raw.
If the man said to him, let the

192
00:10:48,920 –> 00:10:52,280
fat be burned 1st, and then take
as much as your soul desires,

193
00:10:52,800 –> 00:10:55,960
then he would say no, but you
shall give it to me now, and if

194
00:10:55,960 –> 00:11:00,640
not, I will take it by force.
The sin of the young men was

195
00:11:00,640 –> 00:11:04,040
very great before Yahweh, for
the men despised Yahweh’s

196
00:11:04,040 –> 00:11:07,040
offering.
But Samuel ministered before

197
00:11:07,040 –> 00:11:10,440
Yahweh, being a child clothed
with a linen ephod.

198
00:11:11,520 –> 00:11:14,640
Moreover, his mother made him a
little robe and brought it to

199
00:11:14,640 –> 00:11:16,920
him from year to year.
When she came up with her

200
00:11:16,920 –> 00:11:21,800
husband to offer the yearly
sacrifice, Eli blessed Elkanah

201
00:11:21,800 –> 00:11:25,080
and his wife and said, May
Yahweh give you offspring from

202
00:11:25,080 –> 00:11:27,560
this woman for the petition
which was asked of Yahweh.

203
00:11:28,200 –> 00:11:29,720
Then they went to their own
home.

204
00:11:30,800 –> 00:11:34,200
Yahweh visited Hannah, and she
conceived and bore three sons

205
00:11:34,200 –> 00:11:37,200
and two daughters.
The child Samuel grew before

206
00:11:37,200 –> 00:11:41,080
Yahweh.
Now Eli was very old, and he

207
00:11:41,080 –> 00:11:44,360
heard all that his sons did to
all Israel, and how that they

208
00:11:44,360 –> 00:11:47,160
slept with the women who served
at the door of the tent of

209
00:11:47,160 –> 00:11:50,280
meeting.
He said to them, Why do you do

210
00:11:50,280 –> 00:11:52,920
such things?
For I hear of your evil dealings

211
00:11:52,920 –> 00:11:56,160
from all these people.
No, my sons, for it is not a

212
00:11:56,160 –> 00:11:58,920
good report that I hear.
You make Yahweh’s people

213
00:11:58,920 –> 00:12:02,440
disobey.
If one man sins against another,

214
00:12:02,520 –> 00:12:05,440
God will judge him.
But if a man sins against

215
00:12:05,440 –> 00:12:07,320
Yahweh, who will intercede for
him?

216
00:12:07,960 –> 00:12:10,640
Notwithstanding, they didn’t
listen to the voice of their

217
00:12:10,640 –> 00:12:14,040
father, because Yahweh intended
to kill them.

218
00:12:15,120 –> 00:12:18,720
The child Samuel grew on and
increased in favor both with

219
00:12:18,720 –> 00:12:23,240
Yahweh and also with men.
A man of God came to Eli and

220
00:12:23,240 –> 00:12:27,200
said to him, Yahweh says, Did I
reveal myself to the House of

221
00:12:27,200 –> 00:12:29,960
your father when they were in
Egypt in bondage to Pharaoh’s

222
00:12:29,960 –> 00:12:32,840
house?
Didn’t I choose him out of all

223
00:12:32,840 –> 00:12:36,760
the tribes of Israel to be my
priest, to go up to my altar, to

224
00:12:36,760 –> 00:12:39,520
burn incense, to wear an ephod
before me?

225
00:12:40,560 –> 00:12:43,560
Didn’t I give to the House of
your father all the offerings of

226
00:12:43,560 –> 00:12:45,600
the children of Israel made by
fire?

227
00:12:46,640 –> 00:12:50,080
Why do you kick at my sacrifice
and at my offering which I have

228
00:12:50,080 –> 00:12:55,040
commanded in my habitation, and
honor your sons above me to make

229
00:12:55,040 –> 00:12:57,960
yourselves fat with the best of
all the offerings of Israel, My

230
00:12:57,960 –> 00:13:00,560
people.
Therefore Yahweh, the God of

231
00:13:00,560 –> 00:13:04,760
Israel, says, I said indeed that
your house and the House of your

232
00:13:04,760 –> 00:13:06,640
Father should walk before me
forever.

233
00:13:07,160 –> 00:13:11,120
But now Yahweh says, far be it
from me, for those who honor me

234
00:13:11,120 –> 00:13:15,000
I will honor, and those who
despise me will be cursed.

235
00:13:16,080 –> 00:13:19,600
Behold the days come that I will
cut off your arm and the arm of

236
00:13:19,600 –> 00:13:22,600
your father’s house, that there
will not be an old man in your

237
00:13:22,600 –> 00:13:25,440
house.
You will see the affliction of

238
00:13:25,440 –> 00:13:29,000
my habitation in all the wealth
which I will give Israel.

239
00:13:29,440 –> 00:13:31,840
There shall not be an old man in
your house forever.

240
00:13:32,840 –> 00:13:35,760
The man of yours whom I don’t
cut off from my altar will

241
00:13:35,760 –> 00:13:37,960
consume your eyes and grieve
your heart.

242
00:13:38,520 –> 00:13:41,200
All the increase of your house
will die in the flower of their

243
00:13:41,200 –> 00:13:43,920
age.
This will be the sign to you

244
00:13:43,920 –> 00:13:47,120
that will come on your two sons
on Hoffney and Feinhas.

245
00:13:47,480 –> 00:13:51,520
In one day they will both die.
I will raise up a faithful

246
00:13:51,520 –> 00:13:54,840
priest for myself who will do
according to that which is in my

247
00:13:54,840 –> 00:13:58,480
heart and in my mind.
I will build him a sure house.

248
00:13:58,840 –> 00:14:00,960
He will walk before my anointed
forever.

249
00:14:02,000 –> 00:14:04,880
It will happen that everyone who
is left in your house will come

250
00:14:04,880 –> 00:14:08,120
and bow down to him for a piece
of silver and a loaf of bread,

251
00:14:08,600 –> 00:14:13,280
and will say, Please put me into
one of the priests offices that

252
00:14:13,280 –> 00:14:18,400
I may eat a morsel of bread.
