Life doesn’t always go the way we expect, right? Sometimes we face struggles that seem unfair or overwhelming. But even when things seem uncertain, we can trust that God is working behind the scenes.
In Exodus 1–2, we read about a time when God’s people, the Israelites, were enslaved in Egypt. They were oppressed, mistreated, and their lives were anything but peaceful. In the middle of this hardship, Moses was born. His mother, seeing that he was a special child, decided to hide him from the Pharaoh’s orders to kill all the Hebrew baby boys. She trusted God and took a huge step of faith to protect him.
But here’s the thing: Moses’ story didn’t start with a grand miracle or a powerful leader—it started in the middle of fear and uncertainty. Moses’ family didn’t have everything they wanted. They had to live in difficult circumstances, yet they chose faith. And that faith led to God using Moses to lead His people to freedom.
Now, Proverbs 17:1 tells us, “Better is a dry morsel with quiet than a house full of feasting with strife.” This verse reminds us that peace, even in small things, is better than having everything we think we want but being surrounded by chaos. A quiet, humble life with peace is far more valuable than a loud, over-the-top life filled with drama and conflict.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Struggle vs. Faith – Life might feel like it’s going wrong sometimes, but can you think of a time when God showed up in a surprising way during a difficult situation? What did that teach you about trusting Him even when things feel hard?
2. Quiet Peace – Proverbs says peace is better than “feasting with strife.” Are there areas in your life where you might be trading peace for drama? Maybe in friendships, school, or your thoughts? How can you choose peace over chaos?
3. God’s Plan – Moses’ journey didn’t look easy, but God was working in the background. Where in your life can you trust that God is doing something even if you can’t see it yet?

BOTTOM LINE
When everything around you feels uncertain, remember that God is at work even when things seem chaotic. Trusting Him, even in the smallest things, can lead to peace and a bigger story than you could imagine. The beginning of Moses’ life didn’t look perfect, but God had a plan all along—and He has one for you too.
