“The heart knows its own bitterness, and no stranger shares its joy. The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.” — Proverbs 14:10–11 (ESV)

“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.” — Psalm 42:11 (ESV)

“Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” — Mark 11:24 (ESV)

Some days, it feels like no one really gets what you’re going through. Maybe your heart feels heavy because of school stress, friend drama, or stuff happening at home. Proverbs 14:10 reminds us that everyone carries private struggles others may never fully see. David knew this feeling when he wrote Psalm 42, pouring out his sadness but choosing to put his hope in God anyway. Jesus, in Mark 11, shows us the power of faith-filled prayer—that when life feels overwhelming, we can talk to God and trust Him to hear us.

Even when you feel alone, you are not. God sees your heart, understands your pain, and invites you to believe He can bring peace, strength, and answers in His time.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. God Knows Your Heart: How does it help to know that God understands what you feel even when no one else does (Proverbs 14:10)?

2. Hope in Hard Times: Like David in Psalm 42, what are some ways you can remind yourself to hope in God when you feel down?

3. Pray with Faith: What’s one thing you can start praying about today with faith, trusting God to work in His way and His time (Mark 11:24)?

BOTTOM LINE

God sees your heart, hears your prayers, and invites you to trust Him with every burden and every hope.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for seeing me when I feel unseen and for understanding the feelings I can’t always explain. Help me to put my hope in You like David did and to pray with faith, believing You care about every part of my life. Teach me to trust You with my heart, my struggles, and my future. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

00:00:02,440 –> 00:00:05,800
Welcome to Bible Chat, where we
have devotional conversations

2
00:00:06,120 –> 00:00:11,320
rooted in Scripture and relevant
for today, April 11th.

3
00:00:11,720 –> 00:00:14,120
When your heart feels heavy,
there are some weights you

4
00:00:14,120 –> 00:00:17,360
cannot explain easily.
You try to smile, answer

5
00:00:17,360 –> 00:00:20,480
messages, finish your work, and
act normal, but deep down your

6
00:00:20,480 –> 00:00:24,080
heart feels tired.
Maybe it is disappointment,

7
00:00:24,360 –> 00:00:28,040
anxiety, loneliness, pressure,
grief, or just the kind of

8
00:00:28,040 –> 00:00:30,040
sadness that does not have neat
words.

9
00:00:31,160 –> 00:00:35,640
Proverbs chapter 14 verses 10:50
says the heart knows its own

10
00:00:35,640 –> 00:00:38,160
bitterness and no stranger
shares its joy.

11
00:00:38,840 –> 00:00:41,720
That means God understands
something important about us.

12
00:00:42,840 –> 00:00:45,560
There are parts of your inner
life that other people may never

13
00:00:45,560 –> 00:00:49,320
fully see, but the fact that
others do not fully understand

14
00:00:49,560 –> 00:00:54,440
does not mean you are alone.
Psalm 42, verse 11 speaks right

15
00:00:54,440 –> 00:00:57,440
into that heaviness.
Why are you cast down, Oh my

16
00:00:57,440 –> 00:00:59,520
soul, and why are you in turmoil
within me?

17
00:00:59,840 –> 00:01:02,360
Hope in God.
I love that because it is

18
00:01:02,360 –> 00:01:05,400
honest.
The writer does not pretend to

19
00:01:05,400 –> 00:01:08,160
feel strong.
He talks to his own soul in the

20
00:01:08,160 –> 00:01:11,000
middle of the struggle.
He names the turmoil, but he

21
00:01:11,000 –> 00:01:13,160
does not let despair have the
final word.

22
00:01:14,200 –> 00:01:15,680
He tells his heart where to
look.

23
00:01:15,880 –> 00:01:21,240
Hope in God Then Jesus says in
Mark Chapter 11 verse 24,

24
00:01:21,560 –> 00:01:24,440
whatever you ask in prayer,
believe that you have received

25
00:01:24,440 –> 00:01:27,920
it and it will be yours.
That is not a blank check for

26
00:01:27,920 –> 00:01:31,440
selfish wishes.
It is an invitation to trust

27
00:01:31,440 –> 00:01:32,960
that God hears you when you
pray.

28
00:01:33,400 –> 00:01:36,160
Your heavy heart is not a burden
he is tired of carrying.

29
00:01:36,600 –> 00:01:39,480
He welcomes it.
He listens, he cares.

30
00:01:39,840 –> 00:01:42,040
So today, do not hide your pain
from God.

31
00:01:43,160 –> 00:01:45,280
Bring him what feels tangled and
messy.

32
00:01:45,800 –> 00:01:48,600
Bring Him the tears you have not
cried yet, the questions you

33
00:01:48,600 –> 00:01:51,360
cannot answer, the fear you do
not want to admit.

34
00:01:51,800 –> 00:01:53,960
He sees you completely and loves
you fully.

35
00:01:55,120 –> 00:01:58,880
A heavy heart can still hope, A
hurting soul can still pray, and

36
00:01:58,880 –> 00:02:01,000
God is still near.
Let’s pray.

37
00:02:01,480 –> 00:02:04,160
Heavenly Father, thank you for
seeing the parts of my heart

38
00:02:04,160 –> 00:02:06,000
that no one else fully
understands.

39
00:02:07,080 –> 00:02:10,400
When I feel heavy, tired, or
overwhelmed, help me bring

40
00:02:10,400 –> 00:02:13,640
everything to You in prayer.
Teach my soul to hope in You

41
00:02:13,640 –> 00:02:18,200
even before I see things change.
Fill me with peace, strength and

42
00:02:18,200 –> 00:02:21,680
the quiet confidence that you
are near and you care in Jesus

43
00:02:21,680 –> 00:02:28,120
name, Amen.
What if you could rise up and

44
00:02:28,120 –> 00:02:32,040
declare with full spiritual
authority, I shall not die, but

45
00:02:32,040 –> 00:02:35,880

00:03:27,800 –> 00:03:33,000
Bible reading plan.
Proverbs chapter 14 verses 10 to

64
00:03:33,000 –> 00:03:36,920
11 World English Bible.
The heart knows its own

65
00:03:36,920 –> 00:03:39,440
bitterness and joy.
He will not share these with a

66
00:03:39,440 –> 00:03:42,320
stranger.
The House of the wicked will be

67
00:03:42,320 –> 00:03:44,920
overthrown, but the tent of the
upright will flourish.

68
00:03:45,480 –> 00:03:49,080
Psalm chapter 42.
World English Bible for the

69
00:03:49,080 –> 00:03:52,160
chief musician.
A contemplation by the sons of

70
00:03:52,160 –> 00:03:55,200
Korra.
As the deer pants for the water

71
00:03:55,200 –> 00:03:57,680
brooks, so my soul pants after
you God.

72
00:03:58,120 –> 00:04:00,600
My soul thirsts for God, for the
living God.

73
00:04:01,000 –> 00:04:03,000
When shall I come and appear
before God?

74
00:04:04,080 –> 00:04:06,360
My tears have been my food day
and night, while they

75
00:04:06,360 –> 00:04:08,680
continually ask me, Where is
your God?

76
00:04:09,280 –> 00:04:12,240
These things I remember and pour
out my soul within me.

77
00:04:12,440 –> 00:04:16,720
How I used to go with the crowd
and LED them to God’s house with

78
00:04:16,720 –> 00:04:20,279
the voice of joy and praise.
A multitude keeping a holy day.

79
00:04:21,440 –> 00:04:24,840
Why are you in despair, my soul?
Why are you disturbed within me?

80
00:04:25,120 –> 00:04:28,280
Hope in God, for I shall still
praise Him for the saving help

81
00:04:28,280 –> 00:04:31,480
of His presence.
My God, my soul is in despair

82
00:04:31,480 –> 00:04:34,480
within me.
Therefore I remember you from

83
00:04:34,480 –> 00:04:37,360
the land of the Jordan, the
heights of Herman, from the hill

84
00:04:37,360 –> 00:04:40,040
Mizar.
Deep calls to deep at the noise

85
00:04:40,040 –> 00:04:43,600
of your waterfalls, all your
waves and your billows have

86
00:04:43,600 –> 00:04:46,360
swept over me.
Yahweh will command his loving

87
00:04:46,360 –> 00:04:50,000
kindness in the daytime, In the
night his song shall be with me,

88
00:04:50,360 –> 00:04:54,880
a prayer to the God of my life.
I will ask God, my rock, why

89
00:04:54,880 –> 00:04:57,840
have you forgotten me?
Why do I go morning?

90
00:04:57,840 –> 00:05:00,880
Because of the oppression of the
enemy, as with a sword in my

91
00:05:00,880 –> 00:05:03,080
bones.
My adversaries reproach me,

92
00:05:03,080 –> 00:05:05,840
while they continually ask me,
where is your God?

93
00:05:06,280 –> 00:05:11,800
Why are you in despair, my soul?
Why are you disturbed within me?

94
00:05:12,080 –> 00:05:15,520
Hope in God, for I shall still
praise him the saving help of my

95
00:05:15,520 –> 00:05:19,280
countenance and my God.
Mark Chapter 11 World English

96
00:05:19,280 –> 00:05:23,560
Bible When they came near to
Jerusalem, to Beth’s fidge and

97
00:05:23,560 –> 00:05:27,200
Bethany at the Mount of Olives,
he sent two of his disciples and

98
00:05:27,200 –> 00:05:30,320
said to them, Go your way into
the village that is opposite

99
00:05:30,320 –> 00:05:33,480
you.
Immediately as you enter into it

100
00:05:33,640 –> 00:05:36,680
you will find a young donkey
tied on which no one is SAT.

101
00:05:37,240 –> 00:05:41,480
Untie him and bring him.
If anyone asks you why are you

102
00:05:41,480 –> 00:05:44,920
doing this, say the Lord needs
him and immediately he will send

103
00:05:44,920 –> 00:05:48,840
him back here.
They went away and found a young

104
00:05:48,840 –> 00:05:52,440
donkey tied at the door outside
in the open St. and they united

105
00:05:52,440 –> 00:05:54,920
him.
Some of those who stood there

106
00:05:54,920 –> 00:05:58,200
asked them what are you doing
untying the young donkey?

107
00:05:58,680 –> 00:06:02,000
They said to them just as Jesus
had said, and they let them go.

108
00:06:03,120 –> 00:06:05,880
They brought the young donkey to
Jesus and threw their garments

109
00:06:05,880 –> 00:06:10,200
on it, and Jesus sat on it.
Many spread their garments on

110
00:06:10,200 –> 00:06:13,600
the way, and others were cutting
down branches from the trees and

111
00:06:13,600 –> 00:06:16,720
spreading them on the road.
Those who went in front and

112
00:06:16,720 –> 00:06:19,080
those who followed cried out
Hosanna.

113
00:06:20,200 –> 00:06:22,520
Blessed is he who comes in the
name of the Lord.

114
00:06:23,040 –> 00:06:26,080
Blessed is the Kingdom of our
Father David that is coming in

115
00:06:26,080 –> 00:06:30,360
the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest Jesus

116
00:06:30,360 –> 00:06:32,240
entered into the temple in
Jerusalem.

117
00:06:32,720 –> 00:06:35,120
When he had looked around at
everything, it being now

118
00:06:35,120 –> 00:06:37,600
evening, he went out to Bethany
with the 12.

119
00:06:38,760 –> 00:06:41,840
The next day when they had come
out from Bethany, he was hungry.

120
00:06:42,360 –> 00:06:45,720
Seeing a fig tree afar off
having leaves, he came to see if

121
00:06:45,720 –> 00:06:47,520
perhaps he might find anything
on it.

122
00:06:48,600 –> 00:06:51,440
When he came to it, he found
nothing but leaves, for it was

123
00:06:51,440 –> 00:06:55,400
not the season for figs.
Jesus told it, May no one ever

124
00:06:55,400 –> 00:06:58,320
eat fruit from you again.
And his disciples heard it.

125
00:06:59,440 –> 00:07:02,920
They came to Jerusalem, and
Jesus entered into the temple

126
00:07:03,080 –> 00:07:06,240
and began to throw out those who
sold and those who bought in the

127
00:07:06,240 –> 00:07:10,800
temple and overthrew the money
changers, tables and the seats

128
00:07:10,800 –> 00:07:14,560
of those who sold the doves.
He would not allow anyone to

129
00:07:14,560 –> 00:07:16,320
carry a container through the
temple.

130
00:07:16,800 –> 00:07:20,400
He taught, saying to them, Isn’t
it written, My house will be

131
00:07:20,400 –> 00:07:24,280
called a House of prayer for all
the nations, But you have made

132
00:07:24,280 –> 00:07:26,920
it a den of robbers.
The chief priests and the

133
00:07:26,920 –> 00:07:31,080
scribes heard it and sought how
they might destroy him, for they

134
00:07:31,080 –> 00:07:34,200
feared him, because all the
multitude was astonished at his

135
00:07:34,200 –> 00:07:36,760
teaching.
When evening came, he went out

136
00:07:36,760 –> 00:07:39,480
of the city.
As they passed by in the

137
00:07:39,480 –> 00:07:42,280
morning, they saw the fig tree
withered away from the roots.

138
00:07:42,760 –> 00:07:47,320
Peter, remembering, said to him,
Rabbi, look, the fig tree which

139
00:07:47,320 –> 00:07:51,080
you curse it has withered away.
Jesus answered them, Have faith

140
00:07:51,080 –> 00:07:54,240
in God.
For most certainly I tell you,

141
00:07:54,360 –> 00:07:57,440
whoever may tell this mountain
be taken up and cast into the

142
00:07:57,440 –> 00:08:01,200
sea, and doesn’t doubt in his
heart, but believes that what he

143
00:08:01,200 –> 00:08:04,920
says is happening, he shall have
whatever he says.

144
00:08:06,000 –> 00:08:09,480
Therefore I tell you all things,
whatever you pray and ask for,

145
00:08:09,640 –> 00:08:12,240
believe that you have received
them, and you shall have them.

146
00:08:13,400 –> 00:08:16,320
Whenever you stand praying.
Forgive if you have anything

147
00:08:16,320 –> 00:08:20,360
against anyone, so that your
Father who is in heaven may also

148
00:08:20,360 –> 00:08:24,160
forgive you your transgressions.
But if you do not forgive,

149
00:08:24,320 –> 00:08:26,360
neither will your Father in
heaven forgive your

150
00:08:26,360 –> 00:08:29,480
transgressions.
They came again to Jerusalem,

151
00:08:29,800 –> 00:08:32,480
and as he was walking in the
temple, the chief priests, the

152
00:08:32,480 –> 00:08:36,799
scribes and the elders came to
him, and they began saying to

153
00:08:36,799 –> 00:08:39,600
him, By what authority do you do
these things?

154
00:08:40,679 –> 00:08:43,000
Or who gave you this authority
to do these things?

155
00:08:43,400 –> 00:08:47,640
Jesus said to them, I will ask
you one question, answer me and

156
00:08:47,640 –> 00:08:50,040
I will tell you by what
authority I do these things.

157
00:08:51,160 –> 00:08:54,080
The baptism of John, was it from
heaven or from men?

158
00:08:55,200 –> 00:08:57,520
Answer me.
They reason with themselves

159
00:08:57,520 –> 00:09:00,760
saying, if we should say from
heaven, he will say, why then

160
00:09:00,760 –> 00:09:03,720
did you not believe him?
If we should say from men?

161
00:09:03,720 –> 00:09:07,400
They feared the people for all
hailed John to really be a

162
00:09:07,400 –> 00:09:10,680
prophet.
They answered Jesus, we don’t

163
00:09:10,680 –> 00:09:13,160
know.
Jesus said to them, Neither will

164
00:09:13,160 –> 00:09:15,400
I tell you by what authority I
do these things.
