JULY 18 – Walking the Straight Path3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 20:8–9; Psalm 82; Luke 18//3-Year Bible Devotional Book (Year Two) Available on Amazon//________________________________________“A king who sits on the throne of justice winnows all evil with his eyes. Who can say, ‘I have made my heart pure; I am clean from my sin’?” — Proverbs 20:8–9 (ESV)“God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment.” — Psalm 82:1 (ESV)“And he told them a parable, that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.” — Luke 18:1 (ESV)________________________________________It’s easy to think we can “get away” with things no one sees—cheating on a test, gossiping about a friend, or being unkind when no one’s watching. Proverbs 20 reminds us that God sees all and knows the condition of our hearts. Even if we fool people, we can’t hide from Him. Psalm 82 shows us that God cares deeply about justice and how we treat others, and He holds those in authority accountable. And Luke 18 encourages persistence in prayer and trust, reminding us that God is active and listening, even when it feels like nothing is happening. The challenge for teens today is choosing integrity when it feels easier to cut corners or stay silent. It’s about being honest with ourselves, standing up for others, and trusting God’s timing. Every small choice to do what’s right builds character and strengthens faith, even if it’s unnoticed by peers.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Check Your Heart: Are there areas in your life where you act one way in public but differently in private (Proverbs 20:8–9)? How can you align your actions with your faith?2. Justice Matters: How can you reflect God’s concern for fairness and truth in your daily interactions, whether at school, online, or with friends (Psalm 82:1)?________________________________________PERSIST IN PRAYER: WHEN LIFE FEELS UNFAIR OR CONFUSING, HOW CAN REMEMBERING TO PRAY WITHOUT GIVING UP (LUKE 18:1) HELP YOU STAY FAITHFUL AND PATIENT?BOTTOM LINEWalk in integrity, pursue justice, and persist in prayer, knowing God sees and values every choice you make.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for seeing my heart and guiding my steps. Help me to live with honesty and integrity, to stand for what is right, and to trust You in every situation. Teach me to persist in prayer and to rely on Your wisdom and justice in all I do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
